Teamwork Truly Does Make The Dream Work!

Those who are successful surround themselves with like minded people, and if you are working towards a specific goal it is the only way to go!

When I first started to look for something to do from home I knew I needed guidance, someone to “show me the ropes” –To be honest the task of copying and pasting was way beyond me, so I needed something that was easy to grasp and a team to keep me motivated and on track.  That’s what I found when I found our team!

So have you ever thought to yourself I want to be great at what I do and a total success… What does that take?

First, take a look at those who have already achieved what you’re working on achieving.  Ask them what they did to get where they are.

Next, team up with those who are working towards the same goal you’re working towards.

Keeping in mind NOT to surround yourself with people who are negative.  Negative folks will only try to discourage you.  (I like to call their negative vibes Stinkin’ Thinkin’…watch out cause it is very catchy!)

Lastly, and the most important aspect is to share your goals with those whom you’re going to be working with on a daily basis.  ~Not only will they help you, but they will hold you accountable as well.

To Your Success!

Sometimes You Just Have to Leave Your Comfort Zone

Sometimes the “comfort zone” can be a trap for the unweary… Being an entrepreneur and having your own home business is not necessarily an ‘easy’ thing to accomplish.  Interestingly, it’s not the ‘work’ itself that is difficult to master, but rather, it’s the mindset.  Being an entrepreneur takes a certain kind of mindset in order to truly succeed.

You see, if your mindset isn’t in order…you probably are not going to be able to overcome the difficult obstacles EVERYONE faces when starting their own home business.

The home business industry is not a cake walk… You WILL be challenged.

You will be forced to step out of your comfort zone, and your fears and insecurities will be tested.

The silver lining is that once you move out of your comfort zone and work through those obstacles, you will able to experience real growth.  And we need growth in order to get better at what we do… we wouldn’t be able to succeed without growth.

So, when you have to learn a new skill, or figure out a new system, or overcome a fear, dive right in and embrace it!  It will be exactly what you need at that time to further grow and develop. And the more YOU grow, the more your business will grow.

Have the mindset that you are going to move out of your comfort zone and charge through any adversity, and that nothing will stop you from reaching your goal.  When that is your mindset, you can dive into entrepreneurship head first and just plow through obstacles to move forward.

Being an entrepreneur means KNOWING you are able to be an entrepreneur.  If you don’t have that mindset, then take some time to build your confidence, to build your value, and build your belief in yourself.  Invest in growing yourself as a person.  When you really dedicate yourself to personal development and earnestly work to grow within yourself, amazing things can happen…

People, situations, and events will come into your life to encourage further growth and development…

And you will be able to manifest success more easily than you ever could before.

Just remember… that a new life begins just outside of your comfort zone.

To your success!

We can learn from the young…

Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once
Talked about a contest he was asked to judge.
The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child.

The Winners Were:

First Place:

A four-year-old child, whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman, who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman’s’ yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.  When his mother asked him what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy just said, ‘Nothing, I just helped him cry.’

*********************************************

Second Place:

Teacher Debbie Moon’s first graders were discussing a picture of a family. One little boy in the picture had a different hair color than the other members.  One of her students suggested that he was adopted.
A little girl said, ‘I know all about adoption, I was adopted..’
‘What does it mean to be adopted?’
asked another child.   ‘It means’, said the girl, ‘that you grew
in your mommy’s heart instead of her tummy!’

*********************************************

Third Place:

On my way home one day, I stopped to watch a Little League base ball game that was being played in a park near my home. As I sat down behind the bench on the firstbase line, I asked one of the boys what the score was ‘We’re behind 14 to nothing,’ he answered with a smile.
‘Really,’ I said. ‘I have to say you don’t look very discouraged.’
‘Discouraged?’, the boy asked with a puzzled look on his face…
‘Why should we be discouraged? We haven’t been up to bat yet.’

*********************************************

Fourth Place:

Whenever I’m disappointed with my spot in life, I stop and think about little Jamie Scott.
Jamie was trying out for a part in the school play. His mother told me that he’d set his heart on being in it, though she feared he would not be chosen..
On the day the parts were awarded, I went with her to collect him after school. Jamie rushed up to her, eyes shining with pride and excitement.. ‘Guess what, Mom,’ he shouted, and then said those words that will remain a lesson to me….’I've been chosen to clap and cheer.’
*********************************************

Fifth Place:

An eye witness account from New York City, on a cold day in December, some years ago:

A little boy,  about 10-years-old, was standing before a shoe store on the roadway, barefooted, peering through the window, and shivering with cold.  A lady approached the young boy and said, ‘My, but you’re in such deep thought staring in that window!’
‘I was asking God to give me a pair of shoes, ‘was the boy’s reply.

The lady took him by the hand, went into the store, and asked the clerk to get half a dozen pairs of socks for the boy. She then asked if he could give her a basin of water and a towel. He quickly brought them to her.  She took the little fellow to the back part of the store and, removing her gloves, knelt down, washed his little feet, and dried them with the towel.

By this time, the clerk had returned with the socks.  Placing a pair upon the boy’s feet, she purchased him a pair of shoes.

She tied up the remaining pairs of socks and gave them to him.  She patted him on the head and said, ‘No doubt, you will be more comfortable now.’

As she turned to go, the astonished child caught her by the hand, and looking up into her face, with tears in his eyes, asked her  ‘Are you God’s wife?’

It is truly never too late to learn from the young,

the young do not hesitate to see if they will fail and fall, they leap and revel in their accomplishments.

Nothing ventured truly is nothing gained!

Working from home… are you ready?

I get the opportunity to speak with people who are looking to be home with their family but still contribute to their family financially.  What I see out there is that so many people are scared to make any decision with their life.  Why do you think that is?

I have thought about our economy and how it has changed, I know that is definitely a contributing factor to the fear in our world when it comes to getting out of “Corporate America” and getting home.  But I also see how hard it is for working parents to be available to their children.  With the schools needing the parents support as bad as they do today, the children having so many activities, and all the school work on top of everything else…. I honestly don’t see how anyone can afford to NOT be home.  The decision may be a scary one, but think about your life if you don’t make the change.

Work From Home – The Decision You Want to Make

When I was looking for something to do from home I was in a pretty desperate situation.  I had way too much month left at the end of my money, if you know what I mean.  I needed to be home!  I had a 24 month old and a 6 month old when I decided that investing time into something I really believed in would be benefit my family for the future.  I took “today” out of the picture and only thought about “tomorrow.”

Have you asked yourself what your future is going to look like?

That question almost haunted me.  I knew if our future was going to be bright, I needed to make a change.  I needed to make the decision to work from home.  Many people don’t make the decision to work from home because there isn’t much out there that anyone can believe in.  Sure, you can sell make-up, jewelry, vitamins, coffee, even juice, but how are you going to earn a life long residual income from that?

The bigger question is, how are you going to help other people do that?

If you are really looking to make a change with your life I would love to help.  I suggest you learn about the business I have built as well.   I have helped many people work from home and I can help you too.

Visit my website:  MAKE THE DECISION TO WORK FROM HOME and learn about a team that can help you with your “tomorrow.”

To your success!

“I Would Do THAT… If I Had More Time!”

We all have the same 24 hours in a day to accomplish what we need or want to, so why is it that some of us seem to accomplish so much more than others? I cannot tell you how many days I have chased my own tail only to wind up at the end of the day asking myself “what on Earth did I accomplish today? If only I had more time…”

Having a plan to start with is always a plus, so here is how I keep my time management in the “sane” column and out of the “insane” one:

First Make a List of all of the things you need to accomplish for the day.  Making sure to prioritize your events from most to least important.  (I usually number them 1-5 with #1 being the Most Important)  Then put the events that take the least amount of time at the top.

Next Attack the List!  Do the items that take the least amount of time in 15 minute increments.  (Like answering an email, returning phone calls, etc…)  Now attack the “bigger” events taking 30 minutes to achieve them.  I like to use a timer, racing to see if I can do it before the ding!

The last step, and the most important one – Reward Yourself!  Take a 10 minute break, catch your breath and then don’t forget to Start Again!

Keeping on track each day can be an event in and of itself so I always “Calendar” everything.  I make sure I have appointments written down and next to my calendar I have my “here’s what you need” stuff to get through the day.

Like today… My oldest daughter has her piano lesson, my son his soccer practice, and my youngest daughter playgroup at 9:30 am.  So my “stuff” pile consists of a piano book bag, soccer gear bag, and ingredients to make homemade play dough for the group.  (Unfortunately, the dough won’t make itself…)

So as you can see today is Full of Events, all fun and satisfying from meeting with my business partners, to cheering my sons team, to listening to some sweet music, to helping others both big and small build their dreams.  And at the end of it all we can all learn from the kiddos at playgroup and smile and laugh with glee as we knock over our wooden block buildings and start all over again revealing in the fact that we have the time to do it again.

So don’t wait for “More” time to come down the pike for it never will unless you make the time happen!

Here’s to accomplishing all that you want today!

Has Your Cheese Moved?

Have you read the book “Who Moved My Cheese?” by Spencer Johnson, M.D.?

If not, it is an absolute must!

I read and re-read this and thought to myself “I have to share this!”

The cheese is a metaphor for what you want to have in life.

“Cheese” is what we think will make us happy, and when circumstances take it away, different people deal with that change in different ways.

This short story is an amazing way to discover how you can let change work to your advantage and let it lead you to success!

In a nutshell here is what ya can gather from “Who Moved My Cheese.”

  • Anticipate change.
  • Adapt quickly.
  • Enjoy change.
  • Be ready to change quickly, again and again.
  • Having Cheese makes you happy.
  • The more important your Cheese is to you, the more you want to hold on to it.
  • If you do not change, you can become extinct.
  • Ask yourself “What would I do if I weren’t afraid?”
  • Smell the Cheese often so you know when it is getting old.
  • When you move beyond your fear, you feel free.
  • The quicker you let go of old cheese, the sooner you find New Cheese.
  • Old beliefs do not lead you to New Cheese.
  • When you see that you can find and enjoy New Cheese, you change course.
  • Noticing small changes early helps you adapt to the bigger changes that are to come.

To Your Success,

Are YOU wasting a chance to catch YOUR dreams?….

Think about this a moment… when was the last time you let someone else make a life altering decision for you?  I don’t mean what you are going to wear to church or eat for lunch, I mean the kind of decision that can change the course of your life forever?

Do you base your life decisions on someone else’s opinions on what you should or shouldn’t do?  To answer that I guess you need to take a few steps back and do a self evaluation and truly find out who is in control.

How much do you value your own thoughts and dreams?  Only YOU know what YOU are capable of.

When making a decision I like to ask myself a few questions~  How will my decision positively affect my family?  Could my decision potentially positively affect others?  What will I lose if I don’t try?  Does it truly matter what “they” think, or do I value my life over their opinion?

I would encourage all of you to be in charge of yourself and be the CEO of your own life!  After all our own lives are truly the only thing we do have total control over.  And remember, like the old saying goes you can tell yourself “I can” or “I can’t”  both ways you are totally right.

To your success and successful choices!

How are You making Your decisions?

Have you ever given great thought as to how exactly you are making your decisions?

We all make decisions each and every day, some big some small, but making the wrong decision could lead to poor outcomes.  Here are 7 Critical Tips I have found very helpful in sharpening my decision making skills I hope they do the same for you!

1. Identify:  Identifying the decision you want to make is your first step. Regardless of the size of the issue, you need to identify the specific concern in order to begin your decision process.

2. Be in a Good State of Mind:  If you are in a bad state, chances are you will make poor decisions.  Being in a good state of mind allows you to think clearer and to process information with an open mind.

3. Review:  Once you have gathered all the facts you need to decide what is relevant to the issue.  How accurate is all the information?
4. Alternatives:  Consider what the outcomes of your decision will be.  If you decided “A”, what will be the results?  What about deciding “B” instead; what will all the results of that be?  Be sure to consider all of your alternatives and what the consequences will be from the decision.

5. Get advice:
You should seek advice from several different people that you respect and that you know have been through whatever the decision is that you need help with.  –Always consider who is giving you advice and why.
6. Right or Wrong:  Do not make your decision on “who” is right or wrong, but rather on “what” is right or wrong.
7. The Right Choice:  Once you’ve made your decision you need to put it into action.  Don’t worry about your decision being 100% fool proof.  Until you put your decision into motion you will not know the results of your action.  Just make sure to monitor your decision and make the necessary adjustments as you need to along the way.
To your success!

Initiative – Dr. John C. Maxwell

It’s cliche to say that every journey begins with a single step, yet it’s true. Leaders don’t wait for everything to be perfect before they move forward. They don’t wait for all the problems or obstacles to disappear. They don’t wait until their fear subsides. Leaders take initiative.

Leaders know the secret of momentum: once you take the first step and start moving forward, everything becomes clearer and easier. If momentum gets strong enough, problems begin to take care of themselves and new opportunities arise. But the benefits of momentum only come into play once a leader takes initiative.

As leaders, why are we sometimes timid or tentative when we should be taking action? In my experience and observation, there are six root causes of our procrastination.

SIX SOURCES OF PROCRASTINATION

1. We hesitate to do chores we don’t enjoy.

For me, yard work has always been draining. I don’t find pleasure in it, and there’s a million other things I’d rather spend my time doing. When I was first married, I would procrastinate mowing the lawn until it grew into a small jungle. I knew mowing would make my home look nice and would please my wife, but I abhorred giving it my time and attention.

2. We hesitate to do activities we aren’t good at doing.

I enjoy the arts, and I am fascinated by highly creative persons. However, I’m not particularly gifted in painting, drawing, or designing. That’s why I avoid decorating. I enjoy a finely manicured Christmas tree, or an exquisitely decorated room, but I simply have no talent at making things look good. As a consequence, I will put off decorating as long as possible.

3. We hesitate to do what isn’t on our agendas.

Human nature tends to be set in its ways. When changing circumstances make our plans obsolete, we resist making adjustments. We stubbornly hold to our old course of action and avoid altering our behavior.

4. We hesitate to solve situations that are likely to be messy

A prime example is confrontation. It’s difficult to tell someone what they don’t want to hear and probably won’t respond well to being told. Dreading the possible outcomes, we dawdle and delay rather than initiating confrontation.

5. We hesitate to tackle a task that is high-energy and low-return.

As leaders, we are hard wired into getting the most bang for our buck. The same holds true with our time. We want to invest it profitably. As such, I have always been hesitant to put energy into relationships with high-maintenance donors or investors who aren’t substantial contributors to the organization.

6. We hesitate to step into things we don’t understand.

Hence the saying, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” My generation has had to come to grips with fast-moving technologies, and it hasn’t been easy. I don’t understand many features of GPS systems, iPods, or PDA’s, and, as a result, I procrastinate adopting them into my life – even though I know they could be helpful to me.

VISION AND VALUES – THE ANTIDOTES TO PROCRASTINATION

Author John Kotter, says, “Most people don’t lead their lives, they accept their lives. Leaders are the exception. In their mind’s eye, they have a vision of exactly where they want to go. By keeping that vision in the forefront of their minds, leaders develop priorities, maintain focus, and, acquire a sense of urgency. The vision becomes the driving force behind everything a leader does.

Leaders with a vision are active rather than passive. Whereas most people follow the path of least resistance, visionary leaders refuse to settle for what’s comfortable or easy. They shape their world rather than fitting into its mold.

In addition to following a vision, leaders relentlessly schedule their lives around their core values. Leaders are attuned to what they feel is important in life, and they align their activities to reflect those beliefs. Values dictate what they will do, what they will avoid, and where they will invest their most precious commodity – time.

THE POWER TO QUIT

You may have heard the saying, “Quitters never win, and winners never quit.” Nothing could be further from the truth! Leaders are strategic quitters. They ruthlessly avoid activities that don’t align with their vision or values. They know the power of “NO” when faced with opportunities that threaten to drift them away from their purpose.

I’ve quit a lot of things during my leadership journey: counseling, administrating, controlling, people-pleasing, and more. Quitting has been healthy for me because I’ve always quit for the right reasons.

VALID REASONS TO QUIT

You quit something you don’t do well to start something you do well.

You quit something you’re not passionate about to do something that fills you with passion.

You quit something that’s doesn’t make a difference to do something that does.

SUMMARY

To acquire more influence, taking initiative is a prerequisite. Leaders step forward when they clarify their vision and values. Knowing their purpose gives them a starting point, and a reason to act. By clearing out the clutter in their agendas, leaders recognize the power of quitting. Free from the handcuffs of over-commitment, leaders are able to choose the dreams they chase rather then drifting down the current of life’s circumstances.

To the leader in you!

MLM’s DON’T WORK… Long Term

This article was written by Donna Stewart.  It is worth the time to read it and makes you think, which is what we all should do when deciding what business suits us best.
Enjoy!
_______________________________________________________________________________
I have had so many people come to me asking me if MLM’s work.

My short answer. No. I believe MLM’s don’t work long term.

Now, hear me out. I’m not saying Home Businesses don’t work. I’m saying any business that has an MLM business model will not work long term.

Question: Is there an MLM company that started in the USA in the past 30 years, that grew to 300 million in annual sales, and then continued to grow for each of the following 3 years?

Hmmmm? Interestesting question isn’t it. I have yet to find one MLM that meets that criteria.

Why? My theory: MLS’s have a poor business model yet hundreds of new ones pop up every day. (To replace the old ones that have gone under.)Some people will be successful. No question about that. But they are making serious money at the expense of thousands who do not and who will get hurt.

Another Question: If you are currently in an MLM, how many people are you willing to hurt to make money? Some of you may not even realize that you are involved in something that will hurt people and their families financially.

Most leaders that are in MLM companies have come from another and will eventually join another. Again, at the expense of hurting people for their own personal gain. Now there are some MLM’s that have a product(s) like candles, skin care, Knick Knacks, Kitchen tools etc…and some have great products. However…can you build a long term residual income where you have a customer base that consistently shops month after month? Then there are MLM’s where it seems just too good.  Seriously, you’ve seen the emails and facebook posts right?

ZENITH 4 THE PLANETQuite the list isn’t it? Sadly, there are more.

I will be writing a follow up article about “True Residual Income” as well as the MLM “Guru’s” who have created ways to get fellow MLM’ers to purchase their training to help them build their MLM business.

Really?? You’re going to help someone become successful in something that is eventually going to fail? Perhaps they do this to earn more money for themselves and so that they have a list of people to promote the next venture they jump in to? My personal goal is to educate people on the realities of having a real, lucrative, long term home business and to help to achieve whatever their goals might be.

To your Success!
